How did you get started?

I got started with Melaleuca when my online friends, John and Amy, got started. I have a tremendous amount of respect for their ministry and know they wouldn’t be involved with anything hokey or illegal.

What are the products like?

I LOVE Melaleuca’s products! I’d used the laundry soap and toothpaste before as a guest in someone’s home, so membership was like greeting old friends. The cleaners are excellent and don’t contain the harsh chemicals that most have. I’ve taken the vitamins for a few weeks now and am feeling so much more energetic and alive! And the cheeese crackers are to die for – seriously the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth in terms of a snack cracker.

What do you mean, there’s no risk?

The way it works is quite simple – much like joining Sam’s Club or Costco. You pay $29 to join as a preferred customer and get preferred customer pricing on products, and you commit to purchasing a certain amount per month. You can order each month or, if you’re a vitamins person, just set up an auto-ship/auto-bill. If you don’t place an order, they will automatically ship you one.

Remember, the products are mostly things you’d buy at Sam’s anyway - laundry soap, snacks, vitamins, shampoo.

That’s it! You don’t have to buy an expensive kit to get your business started. Just start telling people about it!  As your business grows, you can invest in some management tools – but by that time you’ll be making enough to cover the expense.  There’s no huge financial outlay with Melaleuca.

Why is Melaleuca NOT a typical MLM / Network Marketing / Direct Sales / Pyramid scheme?

Most of these programs (and some are “schemes”) require that you harass your friends (and even your enemies) and that you even buy thousands of dollars worth of junk product that you won’t use and can’t re-sell. Many of them make claims that have no basis in reality, much less in science – both about their products and about the income potential. Some amount to “get rich quick” schemes that simply cannot work.

Melaleuca’s product and income claims are both reasonable AND backed up. You are guaranteed NOT to get rich next week off Melaleuca’s residual income. You can, however, get rich over the next few years if you work very hard and diligently. Isn’t that the goal of everyone in business? The monthly commitment for product purchases is a low dollar amount and it’s all items you’d be buying anyway at the grocery store. If it’s too much for you to use, you are allowed to re-sell it to your family, friends, and neighbors (I plan to re-sell some laundry soap to my Mother in Law, for example)… but there’s no pressure for you to do so. In fact, you never have to sell a single product. All you have to do to make money at this business, if you choose to, is tell people about it, sign them up, and help them do the same thing you’re already doing.

OK, I’ve decided. How do I get started?

Just let me know. We can go through the signup process online or over the phone. The process takes 10-15 minutes. You’ll give some basic information about yourself, including your social security number (because they issue 1099′s, the government requires them to ask) and your credit card number (a debit card is fine; they also have some options for direct-debit from checking or savings if you prefer). The CC# is for automated shipping/billing and it’s also for identification purposes (to prevent fraud). You do NOT pay anything when you sign up.

Once you’re signed up in their system as a preferred customer, you’ll access your online account and place an order for the amount you’ve agreed to purchase.  You should do this within 24 hours, to make sure everything is set up correctly!  Choose any items you like! Melaleuca also often gives “freebies” so be sure to take advantage of that! On your first order, be sure to choose the Business Kit – it’s a $29 fee. This covers your membership fee AND gives you all the information you need to share Melaleuca with others.

Plan on spending several hours a week, to start, growing your business. You could devote an hour a day, or a couple of afternoons. Start off by reading all of the materials and feel free to ask me if you have any questions!

Then start telling people that you know what you’re doing. Feel free to refer them back to this site, or make a website of your own for them to look at! Place some classified ads, leave some sizzle cards (business cards left in strategic locations around town). Do whatever it takes for you to get the word out there. When people are interested, give them the presentation (on Melaleuca’s site, or the paper one that comes with your kit). If they’re willing to commit, sign them up online or via the phone the same way you signed up. You start earning right away. The more people you sign up, and the more they sign up, the more you earn!

It really IS that easy!
